this novel seems to get annoyed, the reason I can not see it properly. Perhaps it is his attitude as due to the fact that he suddenly and unexpectedly shoots a thought through my head, which in hindsight was a brilliant idea and would be spared much pain and suffering would have ;-)

novel seems to be slightly irritated with the situation. I do not know about the reason for his attitude, but maybe it has to do with a thought coming onto him out of nowhere, Which would have been a great idea and grief would have spared him a lot of pain and ;-)
